Yet another New Year looms large and just like every other year, many of us will make decisions, set goals, talk the talk and share bold predictions and proclamations that we don’t follow through on; not long enough to create any kind of lasting (forever) change, anyway. For many of us wanna-be ‘New-Year-Transformers’, the motivation lasts till the following Tuesday and then somehow, we find ourselves drawn back into the warm, sweet embrace of our comfortable, convenient and all-too familiar Pre-New-Year operating system. The one that didn’t ‘work’. And then it’s June. And yet again, we didn’t do (be, change, create, achieve) what we said we would.
Creating lasting change is a multi-dimensional process; psychological, emotional, practical, strategic, sociological, physiological and sometimes, financial. It’s not often a fun, quick, convenient, painless or ‘nice’ experience. It’s definitely not about arriving at a certain date on the calendar and waiting for the ‘change fairy’ to show up. Neither is it about setting a few goals, crossing your fingers and ‘hoping the motivation lasts’ (this time).
This is not another ‘rah-rah’ workshop, not another ‘shot of inspiration’ and not another pretend guru delivering another ‘be all you can be’ monologue. No, it’s a deep-dive into the science and strategy of what it takes to actually change a life (and to change the person in the middle of that life).
