This episode with David Gillespie is a ripper. Maybe my favourite. Towards the end, he subjected me to some hypothetical scenarios (used in actual research), requiring me to make some really difficult ethical / moral choices between two bad outcomes. I hated and loved it. I experienced both curiosity (mind stuff) and discomfort (emotional stuff) at the same time. I would love to hear your feedback on those questions (via our Facebook page). Before that emotionally gruelling exercise, we spoke about the adolescent brain and why it’s more susceptible to digital addiction, why boys are typically more prone to ‘danger porn’ and girls are typically more impacted by ‘approval porn’, why profit-driven corporations are ‘psychopathic’, why ‘traditional’ addictions (booze, drugs) have plummeted in young people (teens and twenties), why dopamine is the real addiction (accessed through various pathways) and lots more.
